BENEFITS OF READING

PERSONAL

Reading not only provides a healthy distraction for the practitioner, because in addition to intellectual and social benefits, plays an important role in the emotional development of the person since:

A person who has culture and knowledge feels at ease in any environment and to talk about any subject.

Knowledge combined with ease of speech provides the person with greater confidence and self-confidence, which will be supportive of high self-esteem. A person who has the habit of reading hardly feels alone.

IN THE KIDS

In addition to the above benefits, reading in children benefits them particularly in their school performance, since a child who has this habit, it is easier and natural to take a book to study or investigate than the one who is not accustomed to the books.

INTELLECTUAL.

Reading develops imagination and creativity, it is unbeatable source of culture and increases the capacity for memory and concentration. It also improves the use of spelling and grammatical rules, allowing better use of language and writing.

SOCIAL.

In the social aspect, reading provides a greater ease and security to others because the person who reads has five times more vocabulary than the one who does not, which gives greater ease of speech.

Reading increases the culture and therefore the level of knowledge of those who practice it assiduously, which allows the person to develop better in any field, whether academic, professional or social.

The person who reads is usually a person who is well informed and shows an interest in others and the world around them. This quality makes her a person with whom she wants to talk, and she will have many more topics of interest to talk about.

Disinterest of young people reading

The lack of interest in reading is becoming more evident in the youth population, there are many different activities that a young person does during the day and if we evaluate them it would even be strange that one of them is reading for "taste or because he is passionate ". Most teens read by assignments, assignments, evaluations, among others; Noting that it does not cause them interest in informing themselves or culturalizing themselves on different subjects.

One of the causes that could influence this problem is the high cost of books or magazines (in some cases), this implies that the population with the possibility of acquiring them is reduced. However, today there are multiple ways to get books or reading spaces through the web or visiting libraries, which are being forgotten because readers are few.
